This month’s haul is a bit from here and there. I am such a sucker for sale. Almost everything that I purchased this month because they were discounted in drugstore and online. Some I bought because I always wanted to try but hadn’t got a chance to buy them. So, here’s what I bought:
1. Copia Blender Sponge
I purchased this unintended as I walked pass Copia store in Paskal 23 Bandung. The store just drew my attention. It displayed really really cute makeup tools. The one that I interested most was this blender sponge. Look at the color! It is just so cute. Besides, I was also looking for a sponge to replace my oldie Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge. The price for this sponge is also very affordable. It costs only IDR 40.000. For such price, you get not just one, but two small blender sponges.
The first sponge has a shape of hourglass but with a sharp edge at one end. Meanwhile, the second sponge’s shape is similar to beauty blender but smaller. They said that these sponges can be used for contouring, shading, and blending foundation. The flat bottom can be used for blending foundation, while the fine tip is for blending small areas such as corner of your eyes and near the nose.
I haven’t tried these sponges to apply makeup, but I feel that they are much more dense and less squishy than typical beauty blender. I personally prefer lighter and fluffier beauty blender. I will give you some updates on how these sponges work later on. Stay tune!
2. Mizzu Brow-Wow in Grey Shade 0.4
Like I said in my November’s haul, I am trying to find an Indonesian dupe for Benefit Gimme Brow. This Mizzu Brow-Wow may come close to that. The packaging is pretty similar to LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil, which I considered as a great dupe for Benefit one. The tip of the pencil is also as small as LA Girl. However, the formula of Mizzu is not as creamier. But the shade is pretty similar to Blackest Brown in LA Girl. It is not just that, the price of both brow pencils is also similar. I bought Mizzu in Guardian for IDR 65.000 for 0.09 gram, while I purchased LA Girl one in online store for the same price.
3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless in Shade 220 Natural Beige
I have always wanted to try this foundation, but I am waiting for it to be discounted. And yes, I bought it while it was on sale in Shopee for only IDR 83.000 for 30 ml. It was such a steal right? Sadly, I bought wrong shade. I haven’t tried it on my face, but I think it is a little to dark for me. Based on the swatch on my hand, this foundation is very light but has a medium to full coverage. My hand has the driest skin on my body. Every foundation that I swatch on my hand will settle and emphasize my fine lines. However, that is not the case with this foundation. It covers the fine lines in my hands amazingly. I hope it also works well on my face.
4. Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette in Shade 010 Ashy Radiance
This one I also wanted to buy for so long because my favourite Youtuber, Kathleen Lights, love it. I was so happy that when I went to Guardian it was on sale for IDR 50.000. The palette consists of dark matte shade for contouring and luminous light shade for highlighting. Based on the swatch, I like the contouring side because it is not too dark for my skin. However, I think the highlighter side is not that good. Yes it doesn’t have glitter specks, but it is too powdery.
5. Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner
I have everything from Catrice to create a full face of makeup except the primer. That is why I purchased this primer while on sale for IDR 55.000 in Guardian. They said that the primer could erase pores. The texture is almost similar to Benefit Porefessional, but Catrice is a bit slippery. Still, it has that sillicony effect. Catrice also has a slight purple undertone that can make your skin look brighter.
6. Kiss Me Smooth Liquid Eyeliner
I stopped by at Sasa when I was in China last week. Most of the products there I can get in Indonesia, including this eyeliner. I think I saw this in Watsons. But, I still bought it anyway because my eyeliner almost run out. I purchased this for CHY 98, or around IDR 200.000. I don’t know whether it is waterproof or not. Any description in this packaging is all in Chinese language. But, I like the fine tip of this eyeliner. The tip of the eyeliner is only 0.1 mm, making it the thinnest eyeliner I have ever seen.
7. ElsheSkin Matte Lipstick in Autumn and Rossana
This lipstick I bought because it was on sale in Lazada. It costs only IDR 29.000 each. I wanted to buy all colors, but sadly they limit the purchase to maximum 2 per person. So sad. As a nude lover, I chose this two colors. At a glance, both colors look very similar. But, it will look different if you swatch it. Autumn is more rosy, while Rossana looks more corally. I tried this once and I think I will love it. They don’t emphasize any dry patch on my lips even though I wear them without lip balm. They are also very comfortable to wear.
