This is by far the most expensive foundation I have ever had. It costs me SGD 76 or about IDR 760.000 for only 7 g of products. It is that expensive, for me at least. I was just really curious because everyone just raving about it. Besides, I was also looking for the perfect foundation for my skin. I haven’t found foundation that really suits me well. So, is it the best foundation for me? Check it out..
I love the packaging. I won’t ask for more regarding to the package. It is gorgeous, sleek, user friendly, and travel friendly. The stick is twist up, similar to how the lipstick works. The shape of the stick also makes it easy to apply. The foundation itself is triangle. Make it easier for me to apply it on the corner of the eyes.
Hourglass offers 26 shades for this foundation. That is such an array of choice. People with fair skin to women of color can use this product. I also find the perfect match for my skin. Well actually a really perfect match. I wear the shade Bisque, which is described as fair with warm undertones. I also love the fact that Hourglass describes every shade in its website or in Sephora’s website. Before this, I haven’t seen any foundation that matches my skin really well.

Texture and Formula
Upon the first swipe, the foundation seems drying. But, as it interacts with the warmth of our skin, it is melted and getting creamier. Hourglass claims that this unique foundation stick is a poured liquid formula designed to adjust to your own body temperature to blend into your skin. I have to agree with that because the longer I wear it, the more the foundation looks natural. It does not dry out my skin and does not cling to my dry patches. However, it accentuate my skin texture, such as little bumps on my cheek. It also transfers easily, especially to my phone. I have to set it with powder to make it non-transferable. But, I have a really dry skin. I hate using powder because it makes me look older. So I think I just have to bear with it being transferable. On the bright side, it covers my redness, acne scars, and under eye circle since it can also be used as concealer. However, I think it is too dry to use as concealer. I prefer to use another product for concealer.
The foundation still sat well on my skin after more than 12 hours when I use it on light coverage. However, if I wore it full coverage, it will start clinging to my dry patches, but not that bad. I have tried using it with different primer, from pore refining to hydrating primer, but the end result is similar. I have also tried wearing it with setting spray, but it does not help either.
How to Use
For light coverage, after putting primer, I like to apply 3 dots on each cheek, one swipe on nose, one dot one chin, and 3 dots on forehead. Then I blend it with beauty sponges. It will look like my second skin. The result is very amazing. It looks like my skin but better. Almost everyone think that I don’t use any foundation if I wear it on light coverage. They compliment how good and clear my skin is.
For medium coverage, put 3 swipes on each cheek, 3 swipes on forehead, one swipes on nose, and 2 dots on chin. For medium to full coverage, it will be best to use a foundation brush. For me, I love to use small stipple brush from Elf. It is small but it blends my foundation so fast. For a fuller coverage, you can layer more foundation after the first layer is set so that your face will not look cakey. This foundation is so light that even with full coverage, I did not feel like wearing a mask of foundation.
This is such a great product. Even for my dry skin, this foundation still gives me comfort. I bet this foundation also good for normal to oily skin. Currently, my holy grail combo for complexion is Becca First Light Priming Filter and this Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick. So, I rate this foundation 4.5 out of 5.
